Lahesh Cave Trek – Gateway to Indrahar Pass

The Lahesh Cave Trek is a thrilling short trek in Himachal Pradesh that leads you through dense deodar forests, scenic meadows, and rocky terrain to a natural rock shelter tucked high in the Dhauladhar range. Located above Triund and Laka Glacier, Lahesh Cave serves as the base for trekkers attempting the more challenging Indrahar Pass.

Ideal for adventure seekers and nature lovers, this trek offers stunning views of Kangra Valley on one side and the mighty Dhauladhar peaks on the other. The final stretch to the cave involves a steep ascent across glacial moraines and loose rocks — rewarding you with solitude and surreal Himalayan beauty.

The Lahesh Cave Trek is a short yet adventurous Himalayan trail that starts from Dharamkot or Mcleodganj near Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. The trek ascends through dense forests to the scenic Triund ridge, offering breathtaking views of the Kangra Valley. From Triund, the route becomes more rugged as you pass the Laka Glacier and climb towards Lahesh Cave, a natural rock shelter at an altitude of around 3,500 meters. This cave serves as the base for the Indrahar Pass Trek, but also makes for a thrilling high-altitude destination in itself. After exploring the cave and soaking in panoramic views of the Dhauladhar range, trekkers descend back to Triund and then to Mcleodganj. Ideal for those seeking a challenging yet doable trek, Lahesh Cave offers a perfect mix of scenic beauty, altitude thrill, and wilderness.
