Dhauladhar Round Trek is a challenging yet rewarding trek located in the Dhauladhar range of the Indian Himalayas. The Dhauladhar range, which is part of a Himalayan chain of mountains in Himachal Pradesh, has become visible to the people of Jalandhar, which is in Punjab, due to the improvement in air quality following the nationwide lockdown in the wake of the coronavirus epidemic. The mountain rises from Kangra and Mandi.

DAY 1: MCLEOD GANJ TO KARERI VILLAGE
The trek is goes through the pine forests and crosses several tribal villages on the way. Kareri is a Gaddi tribal village. Night stay in tents.

DAY 2: KARERI VILLAGE TO KARERI LAKE
Trail goes through mixed forests of oak, rhododendron and pine. First 2 Km is a level walk and then there is sleep ascent along Kareri Nullah Stream which has to be crossed over a number of times over improvised wooden bridges. Night stay in tents

DAY3: KARERI LAKE TO BAGGA
After a short ascent from the lake, is a steep descent through the forest to Bagga.Night stay in tents.

DAY 4: BAGGA TO RAWA VILLAGE
The trail goes downhill through the forest. Rawa village is situated on the bank of small river. Night stay in tent.

DAY 5: RAWA VILLAGE TO BALL VILLAGE
It is a steep ascent through the forest to Guna Devi Temple, situated in the middle of the forest. This area is bird watchers paradise.

DAY 6: BALL VILLAGE TO TRIUND
After 2 km level walk there is a steep ascent to Triund a flat meadow on the top of the ridge. From Triund panoramic view of the peaks of Dhauladhar on one side and the Kangra valley on the other is awe-inspiring. Night stay in tents.

DAY 7: TRIUND TO LAHESH CAVE
After a short ascent from Triund traverse a ridge to reach Laka Got a temporary shepherd camp.Laka Got is situated at the snout of small glacier, which is full of snow and ice in early summer, and the snow melts away during the monsoon. From Laka Got it is a sleep ascent for two km. Over rocky ridge to reach Lahesh Cave. Night stay in the cave or camp at Laka Got.

Day 9: LAKA GOT TO MCLEOD GANJ
Follow the same route on the way back or a different one from Triund going over a grassy meadow and descend down to Bhagsunag and then to Mcleodganj.
